Agape Ideas

Looking for easy ways to encourage your colleagues? Agape ideas are small favors that usually have a little “gift” plus words of encouragement or a scripture. Possibly you, your educator prayer group or several colleagues might want to make these educator agape gifts and place them anonymously or by authorization in a basket in the staff lounge for anyone to freely take. The basket can have a sign that says, “Help Yourself”. Or maybe you choose to distribute them personally to individual co-workers. Some agape ideas are:

BACK TO SCHOOL IDEAS:

  1. Happy 1st Friday Cake! A group of educators (educator prayer group) can present an agape gift for the school staff on the Friday of the first week of school by placing a cake in the teacher’s lounge with the attached sign for everyone to enjoy.

 2. Back to School Survival Kit — How To: 

  • Use small paper bag or zip-lock bags
  • Put some or all of the items listed on the half page for the kit in the bag.
  • Duplicate the Back to School Survival Kit half sheet of paper that lists the items the bag contains with the explanations and scripture references. Attach the half sheet to the outside of the bag.

applesbasket3.  Apples in Basket – Put in the staff lounge apples in a basket with a sign that says, “Roses are red and apples are, too. I can’t wait to spend the school year with you!” and the scripture, “You must remember that the Lord your God teaches and corrects you as a father teaches and corrects his son. (Deuteronomy 8:5)”

EXPRESS CHRIST’S LOVE TO YOUR COLLEAGUES:

  • Smile. God loves you. (smiley face)
  • He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 (band aid) bandaid
  • Nothing equals Jesus! (Equal package)
  • Let this nail be a reminder of how much God loves you! (nail)

  ENCOURAGE CHRISTIAN COLLEAGUES:

  • I’m on so glad you’re on fire for Christ! (match)

  • “Donut” forget that the circle of your influence with your colleagues will go on forever. (tied to a donut)
